Schulz Studios.
My Bio:
My name is Bryan
Schulz and I’ve
been studying and teaching the drums and
piano for most of my life. My music
studies began on the piano in 1983,
followed by orchestral percussion and
the drum set a few years later. As a
graduate of Columbia College with a B.A.
in Music Composition and a minor in
piano performance, I have written scores
for both film and theater, as well as
given piano recitals and played in
numerous rock bands around Chicago.
I’ve studied drums
and percussion with jazz great, Jake
Jerger, taken master classes with Tim
Alexander from Primus and I’m still
learning with the best teachers. My
piano background comes from
world-renowned, Lucy Ding, Joy Hoffman,
and Columbia teacher, Betty Coulson.
Composition studies at Columbia were
under talented composer and teacher,
Gustavo Leone.
My Services:

What I like to
give students is an enthusiasm for
music, no matter the age or
experience. Students receive
teaching and exercises that are
tailored to the individual. I don’t
like to be bored, so why do things
that are not fun?
If students want
to go beyond learning the instrument
and try their hand at writing their
own music, their creative process is
highly encouraged and nurtured.

 For
some students, playing with another
musician can raise their skill and
understanding to a new level. I can
play drums while the student plays
piano, and vice versa, to try out some
exercises or just have a good time.

My studio is located in the west Wicker
Park area and my rates are reasonable.
