Doug Mock -
Personal Trainer, Columbia MD
Doug has garnered an
enormous amount of experience in the fitness field. Doug
has written features and training articles for Running
Times, a national running magazine; been featured in Bill
Rodgers' book Lifetime Running Plan; appeared in and helped
coordinate the Human Kinetics instructional video "Coaching
Power"; and been a featured guest on radio fitness shows.
Doug spent 1999 at
America Online's national headquarters as Assistant Program
Director of the fitness center for the employees, where -
along with the daily operations of the center - he
coordinated corporate wellness activities and acted as Group
Exercise Director.
In 2000, Doug
concluded an elite-level running career, which began by
leading his high school to the1984 Maryland State Cross
Country Championship title (by placing 5th overall, in his
first season of competition). He then competed in the NCAA
Division III Track and Field Championships in 1989 and 1990
for Salisbury State University, and upon graduation received
a sponsorship from Reebok.
After three years on
"Planet Reebok" (two of which he was a member of their
National Cross Country Team) Doug became a member of the
Brooks Racing Team. During this time he was invited and
flown to races in San Francisco and Jamaica.
Lifetime bests:
one-mile in 4:10, 5K in 14:15, 10K in 29:57, 10 miles in
50:25.
