Will This Be The Year?
by: Keith Cannone
What is it about New Years that inspires people to
make changes in their life? More importantly, why cant people
stick to their goals long enough to make them a reality. This came to my
attention while I was at my local fitness club waiting patiently for a
cardio machine to become available. January at the gym is like a
midnight madness sale at Wal-Mart, complete chaos.
Come March the place is a ghost town! What happens?
Why do people give up so soon? Is it because it is hard work, or do we
as people not prioritize effectively? Think about it, where does your
health rank if you were to prioritize the top five most important things
in life. As soon as we get distracted by life's stresses we
drop our fitness program and make excuses why we cant make the time.
Before you know it another year goes by, Dick Clark Is counting down the
New Year, and the only thing that has changed is .............
Dick Clark, Is it me or does that guy look the same
as he did 20 years ago? Anyway, I'm all for New Years Resolution's,
people can benefit from positive change. But, what If we revisited these
goals every week or even every month. That's It! New Month's
Resolutions. Short term goals are much more likely to be achieved.
Stay on track, make your goals visible at all times and you shall
succeed!
P.S. Here is a tip that has worked for me in the
past, Write one goal on a piece of paper and tape it to the top of your
television so that it hangs over in front of the screen. If your
anything like me you will see that often, way too often actually.
Complete your goal then fold the paper over to watch your show! Don't
forget to put it back in front when your finished watching television!
In case you were wondering the piece of paper on my
television this month reads, "DRINK MORE WATER!"
To your health,
Keith Cannone
