I started working with Ashley in late August/early September (about six weeks ago). At that time, I was about 150 lbs, recovering (slowly) from a back injury, trying to lose weight from quitting smoking, and trying to get ready for an important PT test. To put it mildly, I needed some help. I chose the six week package at three sessions per week. Ashley is a godsend; exactly what I needed. She’s highly motivating, extremely personable, realistic, and positive. And aside from just kicking my butt every session (which is perfect) she also taught me how to kick my own butt.At first we focused on back rehab and assessing the starting point for the workouts. It was pretty painful, but my back built up strength really quickly and the pain started to abate. Then it was go time.

As the test neared we focused more and more on the PT events (push up, sit up, and run). In all, I went from not being able to do one solid push up to doing 22 on the test (the grader didn’t count about 8 of them), from barely 50 sit ups to easily knocking out 71, and from running a (failing) 21+ minute 2-miles to a (passing) 18:35. And now I weigh 136, and jiggle a lot less.

Yeah, it’s true that it’s not cheap to do this, especially these days, but I can safely say this was one of the best and easiest choices I’ve ever made, and given the chance I’d make the same choice over and over again. Working with Ashley was the absolute best investment I could have ever made in myself, and I hope to continue working working with her to get that PT score up higher and higher.
