Susie Nguyen "Salsa Susie". A Petite Powerhouse. Passionate Dancer. Salsa Dancer. World Traveler. ESPN World Salsa Cabaret Finalist-Ranked 15th in the World. All-American Cheerleader. Captain. 1st American to hold a National Costa Rican Championship Title. MTV's Hip Hop Finalist. An SDSU Aztec International Business Major. A Spanish & Finance Minor. President's Club Achiever. First Generation Dreamer. Lover. Fighter. Susie loves intensified living, adventure and spontaneity. Always laughing, embracing change and coming up with new ideas, Susie keeps life exhilarating! She pirouettes, sails forbidden seas, gallivants the globe and does it in high heels! She has a powerful religion and it's called Life. Dance makes her feel physical, strong and empowered so she equates Movement with Freedom. "Music is my diet & dance feeds my soul." In 2003, she fell in love with salsa dancing and "Salsa Susie" was born. She learned from Alex Da Silva (Salsa Choreographer on the Hit TV Show, SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE) Addiction was an understatement as she taught salsa at the four top Dance Studios in Santa Barbara. Relishing uncertainty of life on the road, at 25 Susie packed her bags and surfboard to exotic-erotic Brazil. She wrapped herself around blue water, learned Portuguese 101 and danced Samba with the Brazilians. In 2005, she traveled to Argentina to learn Tango the authentic way....in Buenos Aires. In 2006, she was the first dancer to bring to lifts & tricks to the San Diego Salsa Scene by incorporating her signature lifts & tricks & flying cabaret into her salsa dance routines.

In 2007, Susie traveled across international borders to compete, perform and teach. Susie & her partner was the first San Diego couple ever to represent San Diego at the 3rd ESPN World Salsa Championships. Susie is currently teaching Salsa all throughout San Diego to kids, teens & adults. Susie also continues to specialize in Burlesque, Ladies Salsa Styling, Lifts & Tricks and entertaining people with inspiring & tantalizing dance shows. Her talent in choreography, instruction and performance enables her to teach her students at every level, the secret to wow the crowd. The beginning of 2008, Susie quit her 6 figure corporate job to fully dedicate her life to dance. It was a dream come true for her and she has never looked back since.

Today, Susie is the director, creator & choreographer of Ooh La La Dance Company based out of San Diego, California which is the home to her 8 performing dance teams: Cosabellas Pro, Cosabellas Intermediate, Cosabellas Amateur, Ooh La La Kids, Ooh La La Teens, Hot Tamales Semi-Pro & Hot Tamales Amateurs & the Hotchata Bachat Team. Susie started her own Dance Apparel Line called Ooh La La Apparel that include tanktops, shirts, leggings, jackets & dance footwear. Susie debuted her first instructional salsa DVD and is dedicated to the life of dance. In her spare time, she is a world citizen who travels the globe and loves spending time with her family, friends, bestfriend & lover, Justin and Puppy Dog, Jewels. Early in 2009, she teamed up with ever so talented San Diego native, Kris Babao to form a dynamic duo. Kris is an animal on stage & is the director of D.O.C. Nobody is better than him at his craft. In 2009, Susie brought Ooh La La Dance Company on tour to Turks & Caicos, Sydney, The Great Barrier Reefs, Bali, Thailand, Cambodia & Vietnam on a dance tour. In 2010, Susie took her dancers on tour to Greece & Egypt. She was also lucky enough to have Joanna Loughran step up and become the best Co-Director of Cosabellas assisting in instruction & choreography. Raw Artist also nominated & awarded Ooh La La Dance Company BEST 2010 PERFORMING ARTIST OF THE YEAR from over 17 states across the USA, Ooh La La's first indie-award! Ooh La La Cosabellas were also hand selected to be the official West-Coast Napa Auto Parts Dancers traveling from Seattle, Denver to San Diego to perform in the Mexico soccer games. In 2011, Susie & her dancers traveled to perform & teach in New York, Morocco & Spain on the Ooh La La international dance tour. Ooh La La currently hosts the weekly "Latin Tuesdays" at Sway Nightclub downtown Gaslamp District and "Old Town Latin Wednesday" at Spin Nightclub in Old Town San Diego every last Wednesday of the month. These venues were created so that Ooh La La can share & celebrate the excitement & fun world of salsa dancing at nightclubs for all the Latin dance and music lovers! Susie is also currently developing Ooh La La Talent which will feature the most talented and dynamic Dancers, Performers, Singers and Musicians that San Diego has to offer.

Ooh La La's greatest secret weapon are the Salsalicous Cosabellas. Ooh La La are the true pioneers in the fusion of salsa-burlesque. Passionate about Salsa & Burlesque dancing, Susie fused the two irresistible genres together to create a one-of-a-kind fusion. To this day, there are no other known Latin-Burlesque Dance Teams. Cosabellas possibly could be the next Pussycat Dolls with a Latin Twist. They are the Hottest & Sexiest Ladies Salsa-Burlesque Performance Team directed by yours truly, Salsa Susie. We are a grass-roots dance company that is rising to the top. NBC's America's Got Talent hand picked the Cosabellas to do a private audition in Hollywood early this year and were featured on this season 6 America's Got Talent. We are jet-setters & we travel to exotic-erotic paradises & far away lands to perform, dance & teach. Girls are Pretty Things, hence the name Cosabellas so my goal is to flaunt it in our choreography, dance & attitude. We, Cosabellas are Sexy, Sassy, Flirty, Fabulous & Fierce Dancers. We are addicted to Glamour, Dancing, Red Lipstick, High Heels & all things Fabulous. We are Women, hear us Roar. Cosabellas' Mission is to be an inspiration to all Females....Yes, Women are Sugar & Spice! Girls want to be like us & Boys want us. We are Eye Candy Extraordinaire. So Indulge!

Susie currently has the honor to team up & be dance partners with Abel Pena, the 3X ESPN World Salsa Champion. She will be teaching & performing with Abel across the nation and world in 2011. This year, Susie has two goals: to Headline Shows starring her gorgeous Ooh La La Cosabellas in a Sultry, Seductive Latin-Burlesque Revue and to grow her dance studio. The 1st Ooh La La Seduction Revue will be held August 5th at Tango Del Rey. Susie has already doubled her dance class offerings adding classes such as Tango, Flamenco, Zumba, Jazz, Hula-Tahitian, Samba & Contemporary Ballet.
