A Typical Bootcamp Class...
Arriving early to stretch and loosen up, because at 6 am the fun starts!
We take a light warm up lap around the courtyard, then have some water....
A few jumping jacks to get our hearts beating, followed with a few push ups and
sit ups.... The count on these will vary, based on your fitness level. Anywhere
from 5 modified (knee push ups), to 20 standard! We follow with 15-20 crunches
and move on to the cardio fitness circuit!
Using resistance bands, body weight, and body bars, we will go through 3
exercises, all targeting different muscle groups.
A sample set could be 20 pile squats, 15 bicep curls and 20 crunches. We repeat
each set 3 times and follow with a lap.
Another set could include walking exercises, like lunges and side steps with the
resistance band along a designated 40 yd path.
The total mileage is about 1-1.5 mile by the end of class, split up into small
jog/runs. The pace is leisurely jog/fast walk or a sprint, as it all depends on
your goals and fitness level.
We keep classes small so that instructors can see what you need for your
specific goals, and push you to reach those goals, based on what they ask of you
as an individual.
With the support of your fellow boot campers, we will push through about 3 more
sets of exercises, all 3 times each, using bands, body bars and anything in the
park! We use benches, playground equipment, you name it!
By keeping our heart rate up, while strength training and toning, it is a cardio
workout, without the monotony of being stuck on an elliptical or treadmill
inside a stuffy gym.
You can burn anywhere from 500-1500 calories per class easily, all while
strengthening and toning your body. Because of the low impact and gradual
resistance of the bands, there is rarely chance of a strain or injury.
The support of your fellow boot campers, and an awesome instructor to hold you
accountable will assist with YOUR drive, to attain whatever fitness goals you
desire, resulting in the body of your dreams.
It is hard work, but your health and happiness are worth it.
